Authorities today disclosed the identity of the man who died in a Saturday explosion and fire at a Jehovah’s Witnesses hall near Bates City.
Authorities said Ralph E. Phillips, 53, of Buckner died of what they believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officials have concluded that accelerant had been poured throughout the hall and then ignited.
we have a gentleman who patrols the parking lot here at our job to assist with our safety, yesterday one of my collegues asked him how he was doing and he said he was not doing well, his mother was getting buried that day.
come to find out, his mother is a jw, battling leukemia and due to not being able to take blood, had her life cut short.

The latest report (according to media sources) is that the man poured some accelerant in the KH, ignited it, then shot himself.

I'm not planning on trying to get Silla involved in any way. His reticence to identify himself made it clear that he doesn't want involvement.
And like I had said on the other thread, when I initially contacted the reporter, I approached it by not singling out this one incident (out of respect for the deceased's family) but rather how the WTBTS is a destructive influence in peoples' lives and how suicide as a result of it is not unheard of. I stated how my goal was not to encourage the media to report the lurid details of the man who committed suicide, that it was a tragedy, etc.
If Stilla contacts the reporter anonymously like I did, that will be his decision based his own discretion.
I just would like to give the reporter some names of some credible apostates if he should want to contact someone.
Again, I don't want the man's family to be put in the limelight. I want the WTBTS to be put in the limelight.

In my original e-mail, I had given him freeminds.org, silentlambs.org, and sixscreens. He's wanting someone to contact here in Missouri. I'm going to explain to him that it doesn't matter if it's Missouri or Minnesota, JWs and JW congregations are under the control and leadership of the WTBTS.
Who should I give him as a contact? Please give me your suggestions so I can compile a list of people for him.

That Stilla guy, who generally ignores all attempts at communication from me, is from this area too and supposedly knows what's going on.
My father helped on the quick build of the place and will most likely be on the rebuild committee. I spoke with one of his elder friends when my folks were out of town. The elder couldn't remember when my folks were getting back into town and wanted me to have my father call him ASAP when they got home.
The elder mentioned to me about the rebuild project.
I understand about the issue of rebuilding the KH in time for the dedication, but I am really pissed off that on the very day of the poor man's suicide, the local JW men were already gearing up for the rebuild.
That was insensitive and vile. Some man kills himself and all they're worried about is their f**king precious little KH.
And of course in the grand JW tradition, they're being tight lipped even to other JWs.
I warned the reporters that a representative from the WTBTS would be spin-doctoring.
this just really shook me up.
i would love to see tons of comments about how this little girl very well may be df'd someday.
